![S E C T I ON C SANITARY CI?EU!-ISTANCBS OF THE DISTRICT WATER SUPPLIES The whole of the Rural District falls within the area covered by the Kid-Northamptonshire Water Board and every part of the Council's District is provided with a piped mains supply. The source of supply for the Board is Pitsford Reservoir, which has a capacity of approximately 4,000 million gallons. Treatment of the water consists of softening, filtration and finally chlorination. A. full and wholesome supply of vrater was maintained by the Water Board throughout 1970. The Water Board's own staff carry out routine bacteriological and chemical sampling of the v^ater supplies. Throughout the year the supplies in the Council's District were satisfactory vyith regard to quality and no instances of contamination of water supplies were reported to the Council. The natural fluoride content of the water supplied to this District has been shown to be 0.25 parts per million parts of water. The follovring figures are supplied by the Iiid-Northamptonshire Water Board Bacteriological samples taken in Brixi-yorth 43 4.
