II. DEATHS. The total number of deaths for the year was 9,387 and the death rate 19.66 per 1,000 compared with 20.12 in 1932 and 25.20 in 1931. 220 persons died who had been less than 3 months resident in Singapore. Deducting these, the death rate is reduced to 19.20. The excess of births over deaths was 7,494.
