    where nuisances of the worst kind abound, generating and entailing disease, and sowing the seeds of physical death upon all around. It is to these nuisances that we desire to advert, in order to furnish the public with some feeble idea, not only of the investigations of a sanitary character, which have received the attention and occupied the time of the Board and its officers, but to place before our fellow citizens, the amount of remediable evils, which have existed at their own doors as it were, and which have been removed during the past year.
