![Visit of Miss Perry, H.M.I. Miss Pern', H.M.I., spent a week in the County early in November, visiting Schools in Maryport, Frizington, Keswick, Penrith and Aspatria districts. Unfortunately the weather was as bad as it could be, and in some of the schools it was impos.sible to see any outside work. Folk Dancing. A great stimulus has been given to Folk Dancing in the County by the formation of a Cumberland Branch of the English Folk Dance Society. Centres affiliated to this Branch have been formed in a large number of districts, and there is a large and enthusiastic membership. Classes have been held in several districts, and two members of the Maryport class. Miss Dorothy Benson and Miss Russell, gained Advanced Certificates for Country Dancing at the Vacation School of the English Folk Dance Society in Scarborough. Secondary Schools. Physical Training in the Secondary Schools maintains a good standard, and progress is being made. Miss Hall reports that the work at the Keswick School is steadilv improving, and that the Juniors are ])articnlarly promising. A competition is to be held at the end of the Easter Term. Miss Wisnom reports that excellent progress is being made at the Thomlinson Girls’ School sinre more time has been given to Physical Training. MARGARET FRASER.
