    20th.—Continues better, pulse 104, soft and regular, tongue clean, no headache, eyes and countenance more calm and healthy. Capt. calomel, grs. v. Pulv. antim. grs. ii. et. rept. post. h. 3. 2\st.—Pulse 90, full, soft and regular, skin cool, had three stools since last report, says he feels weaker, but this does not correspond with his looks, &c., Rept. pil. et capt. decoc. cort. §iv. C. tmct. ejusdem 3ii. 2 da. q. q. hora. 5 P. M. Pulse as this morning, bark did not agree with him, took 3 pills. Capt. hor. 1 P. M. Calomel. Pulv. antim. a. a. grs. iii. Opii. gr. iss. 22nd.—Much better this morning, no fever, pulse and skin natural, gums a little sore. Capt. Calomel, dos. ii. No complaint but being weak, he is to be excused duty 4 days and discharged. Case IX.—August. 2Zrd, 1797. Wm. Vickers, fever, pulse quick, headache intense, skin now moist, the sweating stage of the fever which commenced about noon and the day before yesterday, at same time. Capt. solut. sal. glaub. 2 glasses of wine. Sago. 8.—Now asleep, it is reported he was vomited and purged a little. Capt. 10 P. M. et 4 A. M. Calomel, grs. vi. Pulv. antim. grs. iii. 24f/i.—Took his pills as ordered and had some stools since, pulse and skin natural, headache a little troublesome. Capt. p. c. p. 3i. o. h. 2Sih.—Had his bark as ordered, no fever, complains of much headache this morning, tongue foul. Calomel, gr. vi. Jalap, gr. xxv. postea operat.
