![CALCIUM REQUIREMENTS ~- 2h ue” TABLOID’ #0 CALCIUM GLUCONATE CALCIUM GLUCONATE [Ca(C,H,,O,),.H,O] is a calcium salt of gluconic acid, containing approximately 9 per cent. of calcium. It may be administered whenever calcium therapy is indicated. The calcium, which is in combination with the relatively weak gluconic acid, is presented in an ideal condition for proper calcium metabolism. ‘TABLOID’ BRAND CALCIUM GLUCONATE, gr. 20 (Chocolate-flavoured Base), consists of pure calclum gluconate combined with a suitable quantity of chocolate as flavouring. It is readily absorbed and does not upset the digestion. It does not increase the lactate content of the blood, but furnishes gluconic acid which is metabolised lke sugar. Each product should be masticated and a glassful of water taken immediately afterwards. To ensure adequate absorption of the calcium ion, the product should be taken during the interdigestive periods when the intestinal reaction is least alkaline.
