    local authority of sums received under the pro- Paar VI. visions of the Children and Young Persons Act; —2t. 1933, or the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act, 1937, as the case may be, as to con- tributions towards expenses, or under subsection (3), or paragraph (0) of subsection (8), of section twenty- six of this Act, and paid over to the Secretary of State, other than such sums so paid over which were eee in respect of children sent to approved schools, | subject however to the deduction of an amount equal to such pope not exceeding fifty per cent. as the Secretary of tate may with the consent of the Treasury determine of so much of the expenditure incurred by the Secretary of State under the two last foregoing sections as he may with the like consent allocate to that authority. (2) No payment shall be made under section one hundred _ and four of the Children and Young Persons Act, 1933; or section one hundred and seven of the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act, 1937, (which provide for Exchequer _ grants for certain expenditure under those Acts) in respect of _ any expenditure in respect of which payments are authorised to be made under the last foregoing subsection. 48. The administrative expenses incurred by the Secretary Administrative of State under this Act shall be defrayed out of moneys pro- expenses of 1 i Sec f vided by Parliament. apie’ 0 49.—(1) The council of every county borough shall keep accounts of Separate accounts of the sums received and expended by councils of them in the exercise of their functions under any of the enact- county ments mentioned in subsection (1) of section thirty-nine of °0TUS®* _ this Act, other than sums received or expended by them as managers of an approved school or in respect of children sent to an approved school or in respect of remand homes. (2) The accounts to be kept under this section shall be made up and audited in like manner as the accounts of a county (3) The enactments relating to the audit of accounts by a district auditor and to the matters incidental to such audit and consequential thereon shall have effect in relation to the accounts which the council of a county borough are required to keep under this section as they have effect in relation to the accounts of a county council.
