Dr. Fordyce faid, he knew that Dr. Goldsmith had a great opinion of Dr. Turton.} and defired I would go very early in the morning,. and if I found him no better, to perfuade him to call in that Gentle¬ man. At eight o’clock, the next morning, I went, and found him much worfe. He had palled a very bad night, having vo¬ mited feveral times, and had many loofe flools ; he lay abso¬ lutely funk with weaknefs; and I was fo very clear refpedting the exceeding bad fituation he was in, that inflead of fatiguing him with any c^ueftions, I immediately exerted my utmofl endeavours to perfuade him to fend for Di. Turton } to which he (being now, tho’ too late, convinced of his un¬ fortunate mode of proceeding) very readily confented, and defired me to order his fervant to go diredtly.
