Extemporaneously, it is sometimes prepared by mixing equal parts of Jockey Club, tincture of I onka bean, and spirit. Opoponax This perfume, popularised by Piesse, is said to owe its peculiar odour to the oil distilled from opoponax resin, a hardened milky exudation from the root of Bal- samodendron Kafal (probably). Whether this is so or not, the fact is worthy of record that the true resin comes into the market on very rare occasions only.
