    Cautery; but I let him know, that I feared it •would be more Troublefome to him, and take longer Time to Cure, than he feem’d to expe£t. We prefently fent for the belt Injlrument- Maker the Country afforded, and gave him Dire&ions: But that Night, talking with him of his Cafe, I delired him to confider, Whether it might not be thought a Slight, by the Learn¬ ed of both Profeffions, if I fhould Perform the Operation, upon a Man of his Chara£ter, with¬ out a Confultation ; there being no Reafon (but the Lofs of his Time) to be in Haffe.
