EING informed that you are preparing for the prefs a volume of Eflays on philofophi- cal and medical fubjects, on the fame plan with thofe already publifhed, I am happy in this op- portunity of communicating to you a few ftriking facts and experiments on fome of the preparations of Lead, a fubjeét which has already engaged your attention. Much has been written on the efficacy of the preparations of Lead, on external application ; and their operation and effects are {> well underftood by furgeons, that little remains to be faid upon this fubject. It being however generally admitted, that the Acetum Lithargyrites or Goulard’s extraét is in its. operation and powers the fame as the Saccharum Saturni; 1am defirous of correéting this popular error, by ex- Vou.
