Tlie County Council lias agreed that health centres should be provided at Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe and provision for these two has already been made in the ('ouncil’s building programme but formal apiiroval to jiroceed with the buildings has not yet been received from the Afinistry of Health. It has also been agreed that centres should, when circumstances jicrmit, be built at Billingham, Stockton, Jarrow and New Seaham, in that order of jiriority. New centres were ojiened at Newton Aycliffe and Simonside, J arrow during the year.
