Dosis 3 i, vel ij, quotidie. _ This syrup is used as a tonic and astrin- gent in chlorosis, dropsies, leacorrhea, &c. OXIDE OF ZINC. An astringent and tonic, which appears to exercise also a particular action on the ner- vous system. It is employed with success -in atonic mucous discharges, and its use is very much extolled in the treatment of epilepsy, chorea, hysteria, &e.; but its prin-. Cipal use is a tonic, in cases of opacity of the cornea, chronic ophthalmia, chaps of the nipples, &c. INTERNALLY.—Gr. vj to 3s. in pills. Pills of Méglin. H. of Paris. Re.
