About this work
Description
Based at Sully Hospital in South Wales this film shows the pathology of primary pulmonary tuberculosis (PPT) in children and the practicability of preventive or curative surgical interference. Pre and post operative treatment is outlined with sequences of several operations on children. Footage of the wards and the care given to the children by the doctors and nurses is very engaging; the children gather round informally as treatment is explained and swabs are taken. One girl is shown a doll and treatment is shown in this way. Children are fitted with plaster casts.
