    The corrected deaths included 4 from scarlet fever, 4 from diphtheria, 1 from membranous croup, 5 from enteric or typhoid fever, 15 from measles, 15 from whooping cough, and 17 from diarrhoea; so 61 deaths were due to the principal zymotic diseases. This was at the rate of 095 per 1,000 of the population, and was 081 below the preceding ten years’ average of ] 76.
