The first in a series tracing the family history of familiar faces. Bill Oddie traces his family history, concentrating mainly on his mother's story. His mother was institutionalised for most of his childhood. The programme includes harrowing archive footage of patients undergoing ECT (Electo-Convulsive-Therapy), and other images from the wards of psychiatric hospitals.
