Government of West Bengal maintained 650 beds in the 2 Mental Hos¬ pitals—Indian Mental Hospital, Kanke, and Inter-Provincial Hospital, Ranchi. In Calcutta, there is one Mental Observation Ward Consisting of 30 beds. In this ward there is no provision of treatment. It is used for certification of cases before they are sent to Ranchi Mental Hospital. The following Mental Hospitals and Clinics worked in the State during the year under report : Mental Hospital, Mankundu—60 beds. Lumbini Park Mental Hospital, 24-Parganas—50 beds.
