Description

Postcard showing an elderly Charles Sherwood Stratton as General Tom Thumb, standing with his wife, Lavinia Warren Stratton, on a ballustraded corner balcony garlanded with ivy, a stone built house behind them (this is probably a stage set). Pencilled note on the back of this copy dates it as June 1881. The card would probably have been sold as a souvenir at places where they were exhibited as part of a freak or variety show.
