    - 15 ~ Nursing Staff. Recruitment during the year on the female side has' been most disappointing and the main burden has fallen on senior nursing staff and part-time nurses. On the male side it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit suitable students and it is my considered opinion the most likely method of improvement would ba¬ the provision of additional houses for nursing staff.- At present there are only four available at the Colony which is a very low proportion in relation to other Psychiatric Hospitals in the region. The Local British Red Cross Society detachment continues to give voluntary assistance. Miss E.L,Smith, Matron and Mr, K,S.Bristers Head Male Nurse have been unremitting in their work during the year and have given extremely loyal and faithful service.
