This matter being settled work was begun on the Campus wall, part of which is shown in the picture, and as fast as the pay me 打 ts fell due just so fast did the money come in for that also. The day Dr. and Mrs. Park selected the pattern for this wall the most awful news of all was klegraplied about Peking and they were the only Missionaries left in the city of Soochow. The Chinese friends giving five hundred dollars and over were : Governor Nieh and Staff $3,300.00, Tsaiig Ding Foo of Nanzing $1,500.00, BongLayZm]gofNaiiziug$l,000.00,LeurDzun SzofNanziiig$l,000.00,TszeTsoli Sim of Soochow $1,000.00, Sun Tao Tai of Chaug^suh $l,000.00 (Mr.PilkyhdpedDr.F*arkget&is), Chur Ping Woo of Nanzing- $500.00, and later at New Orleans Tsang Bien Giuii of Naiizing 劳500.00. That fall Dr. D. L.
