    art of teaching children. With her return to his country last year, a kindergarte打 was soon after established in Soochow. And on the 16th of this month the opening of the school was fittingly celebrated, to which celebration I was cordially invited. This invitation I accepted with eagerness. I went, and 址e faces of 化e chUdren I met there were not to be easily forgotten. They were all bright, healthy and intelligent, da打cing with glee and all the time brandishing in the air the five- coloured flag of our beloved Republic, a thin〇- which filled me with the greatest delight and which I believe tends to arouse patriotic sentiments in the breasts of the youngsters. The school building is a model of refined taste and cleanli打ess and everyth!打g there finds its proper place. Altogether, I do not hesitate to say that the school is the best of its kind in every respect; and everybody present agreed in according- credit to Miss Park for having accomplished what she did, and all were unanimous in the prediction that what the rosy future he]d for the Kinderg^u-teii would surely far surpass the wildest expectations of its benevolent founders.—China Republican. For years as Mrs. Park worked among the children in our Soochow Sunday School she longed for a place where she could have 比e little ones for i打stmction during the week as well as on Su打day, a打d for years she prayed for just such a work as the one we now have on hand ill this kindergarten.
