About this work

Description

Generic label printed in pale blue and black on yellow paper from about 1910. It has an illustration of a fisherman's head wearing a sou'wester and smoking a clay pipe. There is blank space at the bottom where individual chemists' details can be overprinted. It would have been stuck around the front and sides of a glass bottle or a box which would have contained the bottle. The tonic was made from Norwegian cod.
