![[ 37 ] HISTORY III. I Was defired by Sir Hans Sloane to vifit a Gentle¬ woman in We met on IVednefday in the Evening. She had many Stools with griping^ and was fo exhaufted with the Hiarrhcea and Age^ that I told Sir Hans fhe had not Life enough left to recover ; but that He might judge of the Effi¬ cacy of the Medicine, I did not doubt of pULiing a Stop to her Loofenefs before ffie died. She took my Medicine, and her Difeafe was cured by Satur¬ day morning; but She died on Sunday. The Hiarrhcea^ that is more difficult to be cured than thefe that proceed from ftimulating Caufes, is that which proceeds from Age ; and that the Con- fliitution of the Sick is at that time worne out. It will be proper then to add a Cafe of this kind, and from thence to proceed to more difficult Cafes of a Diarrhoea.
