![/ [ 56 ] and thought he miift die foon; I own I thought fo too for, befides his Flux, he was fick, and faint to the laft Degree, as well he might, for he had been blooded, purged, clyftered, and vomited, which had brought him to Death’s Door ; he had a Fever, his Breathing fhort, his Pulfe low, his Cough violent at times, his Appetite loft, his Bowels griped, his Stomach in Pain, and was weakened to fuch a Degree, that though the Me¬ dicine is pleafant and perfe6lly falutary to the Sto¬ mach, it was with great Dirftculty he could keep it. down, notwithftanding he made two Dofes of what he ftiould have made but one, However he did take it, and the next Morning was fomewhat bet¬ ter, after having dept all Night: In two Days his Flux manifeftly abated, though his other Com¬ plaints remained •, lb that at three Days End, when I called, and expelled to find him dead, 1 found his Flux perfectly cured, his Appetite good, and his other Complaints were, in a great Mea- fure vaniftied, except that his Strength was not yet recovered ; and if he were n^ver to' recover his Strength, or be cured of his other Complaints, it is no Reproach to the Medicine ; for we ne¬ ver recommended it for a Catholicon, or ever faid that it would raife the Dead, or cure every Diforder.
