Servicing and maintenance is carried out to a regular programme and the drivers are encouraged to take a pride in their vehicles - this is evidenced in the appearance which is a credit to the town they serve. It is not possible to give an accurate estimate of the total weight of refuse collected but for one week in November every load'cf hcase refuse was weighed giving a total of tens 3 cwts. 2 qrs, collected in forty-one loa’ds. If this can be considered as an average weekly amount produced by the town an approximate total of 5)5'!^’ tons was collected from domestic producers. This is ex- cluding all special collectionSj trade refuse and salvaged materials, this latter item alone totalling 311 tons.
