![(b) FOOD PREMISES GENERALLY- GOOD HYGIENE REGULATIONS, 195S - CONT’D A considerable increase in the number of food traders visiting Ounstable^s Market, which abuts a main trunk road, has meant constant vigilance by the Public Health In- spectors and as a result a satisfactory standard is main- talned. The Council agreed to the Department’s recommendation for improved refuse storage and collection of refuse at the market but could not accede to the request for water supply and washing facilities to be readily accessible to the food traders. Thiw will however be reconsidered when the site of the market is removed to more permanent quarters as en- visaged by the Town’s Development Plans, In the meantime free washing facilities arc afforded in the Ashton Street Public Conveniences which are nearby, FOOD AND DRUGS ACT, 1955.- Although the Bedfordshire County Council are the Food and Drugs Authority and as such are mainly responsible for the quality and standards provisions of the ..!ict certain duties still remain with the local authority* The total number and type of food premises in the Borough at the end of the year was Bakers (a) Bakehouses ..
