Public Mortuary, The local authority maintain one of the finest establishments of this kind in the county and the day to day administration is carried out by the Department, Twenty-seven bodies were deposited during the year, quite a high proportion of which came from outside the District and were largely the result of road accidents. Public Conveniences. Dunstable’s situation on two main trunk roads means 'hat these facilities are enjoyed by a far greater number than the normal population. Two full-time attendants and four part-time cleaners './ere employed at the four Public Conveniences and we are satisfied that, despite continued malicious damage to fixtures and fittings, they are maintained In a very satisfactory condition and do the Town credit. The collection of monies is carried out by the Treasurer’s Department but the responsibility for adminis- tration, maintenance and repair is carried out by the ^ublic Health Department, .et Animals Act, 1951» One licence was Issued during the year to a man who regularly attends Dunstable market* Conditions at all times were satisfactory.
