Dear Dr. Crick: u T e have heard via the grapevine that you plan to be in Seattle for a week at the end of February and I am writing to enquire whether you might be willing to come up to Vancouver for a day either before or after your time in Seattle. It would be a tremendous experience for all of us in the Biochemistry Discussion Group to hear of the latest developments in your lab. We would, of course, arrange trans portation and accommodation for you together with an honorarium. It is only a 30 minute flight from Seattle to Vancouver or about 2 l/2 hours by car. I would very much appreciate it if you could let me knov whether you might be able to come and I assure you that your visit would be most enthusiastically received both by the students and staff at the University of British Columbia.
