(55) He was godson to Dr. William Harvey, after whom he was named. (56) “A weak man, strongly attached to the interest of the Stuart family.” (Manning and Bray, Surrey, i., 402.) In a note to an entry of 20 May 1705 in Evelyn’s ‘ Diary,’ ed. Bray, he is termed “ a violent Tory.” (57) His arms were ; Argent, a chevron between three escallops sable. (58) His arms were : Argent, on a chief gules two bucks’ heads cabossed or. (59) Then described as “ of parish of St. Anne, Westminster.” She mentions in codicil her “ daughter Lad}’ Hinchingbrooke,” then living. (60) Burke {Landed Gentry, 1886) gives her name as “ Mary,” in error. (61) Intended to have been married to Kebecca Wolstenholme (afterwards his brother Michael’s wife) had not death prevented. (61a) He bore the ancient and modern family arms quarterly (as did Dr. Harvey), according to an impression of his armorial seal, impaling his wife’s arms, on a deed, dated 25 March 1718, in the compiler’s possession; and from which deed his facsimile signature is taken. (62) The parish register states “ buried 5 Dec. 1691,” and the coffin inscription “ deceased 1 Jan. 1691 [1692].” The date of burial having doubtless been entered in error for 5 Jan. (63) Then described as “ of Broad Street in the parish of St. James, Westminster, co. Middx.” (64) Coffin inscription gives her age incorrectly as “ 47.” (65) Died in his twenty-fifth year. M.I. states in error “ aged 22 years.” Not buried at Hempstead. (66) Born 23 Dec. (Coffin and Mon. Ins.) (67) She and her five sisters were coheiresses of their father.
