Galeotti was tutor to Matthew Corvin, King of Hungary, and is said to have taught at Bologna from 1462 to 1477. This is one of the earliest books containing anatomical plates printed in colours. The engraver was a pupil of l’admiral, the pupil of Le Blon, the inventor of engraving in colour. The explanatory text is by Duverney. The present copy contains 3 extra plates to the anatomy of the head. Cohen describes a copy as being complete with 20 plates, and all the copies we have seen had this number. Fine copy in perfect preservation. 186 Glaserus (Jo. Heur.) Paris, Delaguette, 1749 £1 Is Large 8vo. Old calf. 6 folding engraved plates of instruments at the end. Levret was the accoucheur to Madame la Dauphine, mother of Louis XVI., and was the author of vaious works on the use of forceps in obstetrics. Venice, Guil. Valgrisi, 1566 £3 3s Thick 8vo. Old vellum. Some full-page and ° many smaller woodcuts in the text, chiefly of instruments and of ways of bandaging. The works of these four authors are some of the most im- portant early studies of gunshot wounds in existence.
