    The upland waters of the Derwent supply are liable to be ])]umbo- solvent in action, but this tendency is corrected liefore delivery to the consumers. There are 304 houses in the Rural District without a piped water supply. In the parishes with a piped water supply, the Nottingham Corporation supplies 30 parishes, Loughborough Corporation supplies 6 parishes and the remaining parish is supplied partly by this Council and partly by private water suppliers. There are approximately 14,900 houses provided with piped water and, except for 66 houses fitted with stand-pipes, all have water supplied by a tap over a sink.
