![Tjvrexia had set in. the patient became comatose with a subnormal temperature, and died from respiratory failure. The post-mortem examination .showed oedema of lungs, and recent acute pericarditis without free fluid, and tabby-cat striation of the heart muscle. The liver exhibited the typical - ■ - ■ • The bone marrow of the femur was like red currant Prussian blue reaction. ±ue uuuc —- —-—. ,— ielly in colour and consistency, and microscopically it showed numerous iWleated red cells in every stage of formation. The blood counts were as Date. Red corpuscles per cub. mni. Red corpus- cles per cent, of normal Haemoglobin, per cent, of normal. Colour index. In films, both on April 2nd, and on July 8th, there was marked poikilocytosis, and polycromatosis. Megalocytes were abundant. There were also numerous megaloblasts, some with lobulated nuclei, and a few normo- blasts. Basophilia of the red cells was very marked.
