    Germany—Oppenbeim. Oppenheim, a doubt has been expressed by Burger if this book is really printed before 1501. Proctor, Vol. III., p. 164. “‘ The History of Kobel’s press, and: the order of his many undated books are exceptionally hard to be clear about. While still at Heidel- berg Kobel was connected with printing, the preface of Hain *11080 is addressed to him as responsible for the publication, and a device very like his Oppenheim devices is found in H. 7401, printed at Heidelberg in 1494, but there seems no reason at present to assign him a press of his own at that period.” Proctor quotes Nos. 2 and}4 of the parts mentioned above in his Vol. III., Nos. 11924-11926, but he was apparently. unaware of Nos. 1 and 3 and of the title-page prefixed to all four in our copy. Hain *2454 (without seeing it). Pellechet 1842 (dates the bock about 1478). Copinger (dates the book about 1490). Only one copy in the Public Libraries of France. Passau.
