He states its constituents to be: Water . : : , £ ; ; . 965°36 Solid residue ; : ; > ; ; ; 34°64 Fibrin 4 , 2 : : : x ; 1:20 Albumen ; Ä ; ? 3 - A 3 12:00 Extractive matter soluble in alcohol and in water . 2°40 Extractive matter soluble in water only : ; 13°19 Salts ‘ : , ; ; , e 5 5°85 Fat . ‘ j 3 5 ; 3 ; ; a trace. The salts were alkaline chlorides, sulphates, and carbonates, with traces of phosphates, and of peroxide of iron. Lassaigne analysed lymph collected from the absorbents of the neck of a horse. He found in it, water 925-00, fibrin 3-30, albumen 57°36, chlorides of sodium and potassium, soda, and phosphate of lime 14°34. [The lymph collected from the absorbent vessels of the neck of a horse has been recently analysed by Nasse. He obtained in 1000 parts: Water £ ' : ‘ : 2 950-000 Solid residue x : f : 50:000 Albumen, with fibrin E E ; > 39-111 Water-extract ; : : ; ; 3248 Spirit-extract : , : : 0°877 Alcohol-extract N N : ; : 0°755 Ethereal extract. , ; ; R 0:088 Oleate of soda : 3 : ; é 0°575 Carbonate of soda . : 5 : : 0°560 Phosphate of soda . 5 : : 3 0:120 »5°611 Sulphate of potash . : h 2 ; 0°233 Chloride of sodium j : : : 4°123 Carbonate of lime i ; 4 A 0°104 Phosphate of lime with some iron . ‘ 0:095 Carbonate of magnesia : ' 4 0-044 [0'310 Silica . : : : 3 : : 0:067](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b33097641_0001_0372.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
