<p>A plate and two pages from a book describing the birth and showing an engraving of a baby (whose twin had died after birth) born in Bresse, France with "an extraordinary skin... that entirely covered him to the extremities of his hands and feet, his face excepted". Presumably a caul, or amniotic sac, it is described in detail.</p>
