![[ 9« ] I t c H, or Pruritus. rpHis is the moft common of all, very JL much infefting the Sea-Coafts of . England^ Scotland, and Ireland; and is very contagious. It is caufed generally by Fil— thinefs, and feeding much upon Fifh. This even the Illiterate allow to be vermicular. In hot Climates I have feen the Vermin moving in the Puftles. The Remedies which are ufed, undeniably prove the Difeafe to be very vermicular; for all Mercurial Oint¬ ments and Wafhes, nay, a Quickfilver Gir¬ dle, are the common Remedies; and we know nothing that fo infallibly deflroys Worms as Mercury.
