    |y complaining of Pains in his Thigh; which I take to proceed from the Mufcle Pfoas3 which reaches from the Reins thither. If any of the fmall Gravel fhouid acci¬ dentally adhere to any Part of the Bladder, it, like a Snow-ball, collects the finer Part of the Sand, till by its Weight it falls from its Cyftis on the Neck of the Bladder; and then nothing is to be done but Lithotomy, or Cutting. This brings melancholy Reflections on the unhappy Patient, fince nil the Endeavours of Phyficians, Quacks, and Empyricks, to find out a Cure, have proved ineffectual. ——— Many Trials have been made to find out a Diffolvent for the Stone; and fuch have been found out as will break the Stone, being laid in your Hand.-- But as nothing but an excremenritious Serum enters the Bladder, the Powers of every Medicine mufl be vaftly weaken’d before they reach the Seat of the Diftemper. There is little to be done to eafe the Pa¬ tient in the Fits, or Paroxifms, but to ufe N fuch Medicines as lubricate, and open the Paflages; by which Means the Stone or Gravel will pafs more eafily.-As Bal- E 4 fam \
