    Most of the other causes assigned are such as will readily be accepted as likely to excite the disease—as hooping-cough, scarlatina, measles, and typhus. Gout and rheumatism have been, however, regarded as antagonistic. Contagion wa» given as the cause in two cases, numbers 3 and 6 in the table on the subject.
