Description

This is a one hour version of Richter's eight-hour lullaby that is intended to send the listener to sleep. The score comprises of piano, strings, electronics and vocals. Side A. 1. Dream 3 (in the midst of my life) 10:04, 2. Path 5 (delta) 11:14. Side B 1. Space 11 (invisible pages over) 05:16, 2. Dream 13 (minus even) 08:53. Side C 1. Space 21 (petrichor) 04:48, 2. Path 19 (yet frailest) 07:51. Side D 1. Dream 8 (late and soon) 11:53.

Notes

A live recording of this entire piece (eight hours in duration) was performed at Wellcome Collection, London, in September 2015.
The vinyl records are a limited edition transparent vinyl pressing for handling purposes available by appointment only; the CD copy is requestable to listen to in the Wellcome Library.
In the sleeve notes Richter comments that the original eight hour piece was designed to be listened to while the listener is asleep whereas this one hour version is to be listened to whilst awake.
Sleeve notes are by Tim Cooper in conversation with Richter. Richter also consulted with neurosurgeon David Eagleman with whom he had collaborated before.
