The first illustrated edition of Boethius. Some earlier editions contained only the repeated cut of the author with the “Philosophia” and ‘Muse Meretricula’’, but the present edition is the first with numerous illustrations. Very fresh and large copy, with fine impressions of the woodcuts, the first showing a view of Rome, With some underlinings and marginal notes. Title-leaf sl. stained, a wormtrace running through the first 3 leaves slightly affecting some letters of the register, There are a few brown stains in the blank margins.
