Ovariotomy for large cystoadenoma ovarii.

A film showing an ovariotomy to treat a large cystoadenoma ovarrii. The appearance of the abdomen before the operation is shown. A paramedian incision is made, exposing the tumour. Fluid content is tapped and collected, adhesions divided and the tumour delivered. Constituents of the pedicle are identified and ligated. The other ovary is examined and removed with preservation of some ovarian tissue. The abdomen is closed and there follows a pathological demonstration of the specimen.
