    11 parliamentary bi lls—continued. London Central Railway. On the 1st May the Clerk reported that the Preamble of the Bill had not been proved. Smoke Nuisance Abatement (Metropolis). The Vestry intimated to Lord Stratheden and Campbell their desire . that the Bill introduced by him might pass into law. Metropolis Water Supply. The Clerk reported that a Bill to confer further powers upon the Metropolitan Board of Works with respect to applications to Parliament and legal proceedings relating to the supply of water in the Metropolis had been brought in by Sir J. M. Hogg on the 2nd December, 1884. No action thereon was taken by the Vestry. Charing Cross and Euston Railway. On the 22nd Jannary, 1885, the Vestry were informed that the promoters would deviate the line so as not to interfere with the churchyard. On the 5th March, 1885, the Clerk reported that he had been informed by the Solicitor to the Company that it was not their intention to proceed with the Bill during the present Session. Railway (Rates and Charges) Bills. A Petition was lodged against these Bills on the 4th March, 1885. King's Cross, Charing Cross, and Waterloo Subway. A Petition was lodged against the above Bill on the 4th March, 1885. On the 19th March the Vestry resolved not to proceed further with their opposition on the Company undertaking to introduce a clause to make good any defi ciency in the rates during the course of construction of the subway.
