![Although, of all induction instruments for daily use, Stohrer's involves the least difficulty and care, still, to the perfection of its use, as of all delicate instruments, care is necessary. It is especially important that the zinc should be thoroughly amalgamated, and too great pains cannot be given to secure this end. It is necessary also that all the points of connection should be kept thoroughly clean, and all the accessories in good order. The zinc should be amalgamated whenever, in use, effervescence of the acid is per- ceived. Duchenne's large volta-faradic apparatus is unquestionably the most per- fect for medical purposes; Stohrer's apparatus is the best adapted for the ordinary exigencies of active practice,—//.
