![REPORT of the SANITARV INSPECTOR for the YEAR 1915. Sanitary Inspector’s Office, Municipal Buildings, Canterbury. To the Wovihipful the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the City and Borough of Canterbury. Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen, 1 have the pleasure herewith in presenting to you my report and summary of work done during the year 1915. The number of inspections and visits are set out in -the follow- ing tables, some difficulty has been experienced owing to shortage of labour, the notices served have been directed to the abatement of urgent nuisances injurious to hea'th, no large amount of structural alteration- be ng rec]ucsted during the year. 38 Statutory notices and 350 preliminary notices were served during the year. Two summonses were issued for non-compliance with Statutory Notices, 1 for an house overcrowded the defendant was fined and ordered to reduce the number of inmates, I for defective drains the defendant was fined £1 and ordered to do the work in 14 days- The work not being commenced during the period ordered, a further summons for disobeying the Order of the Court was issued, on the date of hearing the summons was withdrawn, the work being then nearly completed.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b29091251_0024.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
