    LXXV. The year closed with the marriage of Agrippina,' one of the daughters of Germanicus. Ti- berius gave her away in person to Cneius Domitius, but ordered the nuptial ceremony to be performed at Rome. Domitius was descended from a splendid line of ancestors; and, besides, allied to the house of Cesar. He was the grandson of Octavia, and of course grand-nephew to Augustus. By this conside- ration Tiberius was determined in his choice. PU ge í Her father, Germanicus, being adopted by Tiberius, she of course was the emperor's grand-daughter.
