Perfect copies are impossible to obtain, and even imperfect copies rarely occur for sale. Lord Spencer (see Dibdin) paid 100 guineas for two imperfect copies, from which one perfect one was made up. The present is a very fair specimen, and a pre- sentation copy from Prince Adam Czartoryski (with inscrip- tion) to W. Wilberforce, with his book-plate. Bickham (George), the Elder. The Universal Penman, engraved throughout, frontispiece and head and tail pieces, fine copy, front. and last leaf inlaid, half calf folio. London, Rob. Sayer [17431] *,* Rare. Different imprint from that in the British Museum copy. Hazlitt, Watt and Lowndes do not know this edition.
