Miscellaneous autograph letters, signed, by individuals linked to South America. Formerly held in the Western Manuscripts department's Autograph Letters Sequence. Comprised of the following:

MS.8063/1-3: Semprun, José R. (fl.1911-1914), 1911-1914. Three autograph letters by Dr. Semprun, the first dated from Buenos Aires and the others from Paris. Dr. Semprun was apparently from Argentina. Purchased either from Desgranges, Paris, January 1936, or Glendining, London, c.1932 (acc.69292).

MS.8063/4: van der Reis, Professor Victor (fl.1952), 1952. Typescript letter, signed, from Professor van der Reis in São Paolo to Dr. Mervyn Gordon (1872-1953) of St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London, enquiring about Gordon's paper "Virus in Rheumatism" ( Lancet 1948 I 697-740); with two office copies of Gordon's reply (typed). Professor van der Reis was based in São Paolo, Brazil, at the time of this exchange.
