    SUPERVISION OF FOOD SUPPLIES (a) MILK SUPPLY Milk and Dairies (Oeneral) Regulations 1959 Registration There are fifty-fi^e registered distributors of milk within the Borough, most of these relate to shop premises where the sale of milk is small. The bulk of the mik supply being dealt with by six registered purveyors. Milk and Dairies (Special Designation) Regulations 1963 Licensed Premises The following Licences were issued in 19661- Dealer®s (Pre-packed) Milk in respect of (a) Pasteurised 12 (b) Sterilised 7 The total number of Licences now held is 66« Bacteriological Sampling 228 samples of milk were taken for bacteriological examination and submitted to the Public Health Laboratoiy at Oxford, Tests were void in 12 eases due to atmospheric shade temperature being too high. Details of the remaining seimpies are as follows?- Samples Failures Percentage Supplier A 46 8 17.4 B 51 2 3.9 C 36 8 22o2 D 58 4 6.9 E 25 — 216 22 lOol The percentage failure of samples points to the fact that, with the exception of supplier E, the results are worse than for last year and the percentage fedlures in total are the worst since 1951o One light amongst the gloom is that supplier E had no failures.
