It is well to note that the streets opposite which the highest death-totals appear are not the streets in which the mortality was really highest. In 1881, as in past years, there was most sickness, and most fatal sickness, in the smaller streets and alleys inhabited by the veiy poor. The following table shows the relative mortality of the wards during 1881:— 1881.
