    The following extract from written comma- nications sent to me by the patients will serve to illustrate their feelings. One on his birth¬ day writes to me thus :— “ Goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life, for which I cannot praise an All¬ wise Benefactor as I ought, yet I know you will rejoice with them that do rejoice. Since I entered this sinful world, mercies received by me are innumerable, for which I hope to praise Him more and more. Oh ! that the Lord would guide my ways to keep His statutes still. I have been young, and now am old, yet I never saw the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging their bread: comforting assurances held out to us in the word of truth by the Gospel of His dear Son Jesus Christ. That the Lord may continually smile on your efforts for winning souls to Christ, is the fervent prayer of your obedient servant.” During tbe last twelvemonths many patients have been released from their bodily and mental afflictions by death.
